Here is a little insight into how the selection process works for DIstrict 4-5A: Each team's coach nominates players for the all-district team. Coaches then rate the top 6 offensive, top 4 defensive players, and 1 Goal Keeper. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own players. After the first team is selected second team is picked in the same fashion. In the event of a tie both players are on the All-district team. If a player receives a vote and does not make first or second team, he will receive Honorable Mention. Coaches then vote on MVP's and Coach of the Year. (Again coaches cannot vote for their own players or themselves.)
