LHSAA new Law

Parents and Players,

As many of you are aware the State Legislature wrote a new law this year regarding high school soccer. Currently LHSAA (the governing body of all high school athletics) does not allow a player to be on more than one roster or play on a high school and recreational/club team at the same time. The new law creates an exception which allows players to attend College Showcase Tournaments or Camps during the high school season with their club team. To my knowledge only a couple of our older club teams are planning on attending the Disney Tournament between Christmas and New Years. We have allowed for this in our scheduling this year and are working with the club to allow our players to enjoy this experience.

If you are still currently practicing and/or competing with your recreational/club team which is not covered under the new law you must choose to not join the LHS Men's Soccer Team until your season is complete or cease participation immediately with your recreational/club team until you are released from the LHS Men's Soccer Team. If you break the LHSAA rule there are no consequences for your recreational/club team. However, the penalties for LHS are severe and can include suspension from the playoffs and or forfeiture of the entire season.
