Congratulations to the LHS Mens Varsity for battling back in district this year to force a 3 way tie for first. Every member of our program played an important part in achieving this goal! There has been plenty of discussion on how our tie will be broken for playoff seeding purposes. Following are the current district rules for breaking a 3 way tie:
C. If three teams tied at the end of the season
1. The three teams will flip a coin. Even teams will play while odd teams get a bye.
2. Odd team will play winner of the first game for championship.
3. If one of the teams won all the head to head matches between the three, it is the district champion. The other two will play to determine who enters the playoffs as the second place team.
Yesterday after our victory at NISH, The coaches of the 3 tied teams met and followed this procedure. Unfortunately my luck was a little short. We flipped coins and Carencro will receive the bye. We will play a rematch against NISH on Monday at STM (on the Turf). Game time will be 8:00pm. The winner of this game will play again on Tuesday at 8:00 against Carencro. Stay tuned for more information as our situation evolves!
Our boys are playing well but we still need your support!!! Bring Grandma and all your aunts, uncles, cousins, and neighbors to the game!!!! We need to be sure we are much louder than the NISH fans!!!!!
On another note, the JV and Freshmen season have come to an end. You guys are a vital part of our continued success as a program! Our freshmen ended their season with only one loss to STM's JV and our JV squad finished undefeated!!! We will all meet again soon to return our uniforms. Please wash your uniforms and pack them in your bags. Even though you guys will no longer be practicing this year we still want you at the games supporting the Varsity team as we enter the playoffs!!!
