This week the Varsity prepares for the St. Thomas Tournament in Houston this weekend, while the JV and Freshman squads continue to develop there skills for their season. All 3 squads have shown significant progress over the past few weeks and I am very excited about what the future holds.
I know that Moore Park is not convenient for many of you and that our practice time is also difficult. Unfortunately, Lafayette High will not allow us to practice on the football field because of the amount of use it gets during the soccer season. The football practice field is also too small and unsafe for soccer practice. Unfortunately we are forced to seek proper facilities elsewhere.
In order to maintain a quality coaching staff we have scheduled our practices this year at 5:00pm to accommodate our coaches working schedules. I know that this does not always work well with the players academic obligations. We stress the importance commitment and time management to the players on an almost daily basis. We have had a few teachers offer the use of their classrooms as a study hall after school in order to help our players with their time management and study habits. We also have several players on the team who can and are willing to tutor their teammates.
